What are veneers?

During the consultation, your dentist learns about your goals for treatment and, together, you can review the color and shape of veneers that are a custom-fit for you.
If you don’t have any problematic issues, your dentist gives you a local anesthetic before preparing your teeth for veneers. They shave a thin layer of enamel from each tooth and then take impressions that are sent to a dental lab where technicians create your veneers.
When you return for your second visit, your provider applies your veneers to your teeth, bonding them in place with dental cement. They polish your veneers and make sure you have a comfortable bite. You walk out the door with a brand new, beautiful smile.
How long do veneers last?
Your veneers can last 10-15 years, and maybe even longer when you practice good oral hygiene. They are stain-resistant and permanent, so you must replace them when necessary.
You should avoid biting your nails or using your teeth as tools for opening packages. Be careful not to bite on hard objects like pens, pencils, or ice.
You should also keep your visits to the dentist every six months for oral exams and professional teeth cleanings.
