Partials

Missing permanent teeth can diminish the function and appearance of your smile, but the good news is that you don’t have to live with tooth gaps or severely damaged teeth. At Solomon Family Dentistry in Summerville and Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, exceptional dentists offer full and partial dentures to perfect your smile. Call the nearest office to learn more or schedule an appointment online today.

Partials, also known as partial dentures, are artificial teeth that replace some of your natural teeth. Solomon Family Dentistry also offers full dentures if needed to replace all of your natural teeth. Some partial dentures are removable, while implant-supported dentures remain fixed in place.

Some of the many benefits you can expect with partial dentures at Solomon Family Dentistry include:

  • No more tooth gaps
  • Natural-looking teeth
  • Full set of teeth
  • Beautiful smile
  • Easier chewing
  • Clearer speech
  • Strong teeth
  • Self-confidence
  • Improved facial contours

Dentures are strong and long-lasting and offer you the beautiful teeth and gorgeous smile you deserve.

The two main types of partials available at Solomon Family Dentistry include:

Fixed partials

A fixed partial denture attaches to a crown or dental implants that hold it in place. Your dentist securely places the implants into your jawbone, where they serve as sturdy anchors for your new artificial teeth.

Removable partials

Removable partial dentures consist of multiple artificial teeth attached to each other and a gum-colored tooth base. You can place the removable partial in your mouth during the day and remove it at night when you sleep.

To find out if you’re a candidate for partials at Solomon Family Dentistry, your specialist discusses your oral health history, examines your teeth and gums, and takes dental X-rays if needed. They personalize a dental treatment that’s best for you after reviewing your preferences and desired outcome.

During the first step of getting partial dentures, your dentist digitally scans your teeth and mouth. A dental lab then develops a removable partial denture that is custom-fitted to your mouth.

If you choose an implant-supported partial denture, your dentist numbs the treatment area and places metal posts into your jawbone. After a period of healing, your provider attaches your new partial to the implants.

Take good care of partial dentures by flossing daily, brushing your teeth after meals, and seeing your dentist every six months for cleanings and dental exams. If you have removable dentures, take them out of your mouth before you go to bed. Place them in a mild cleaning solution at night and brush them before putting the dentures back in your mouth.

Call the Solomon Family Dentistry office if your dentures get lost, feel uncomfortable, or become damaged.

Dr Ari Socher

Fred Solomon, DMD

Frederick Solomon, DMD, is an experienced general dentist and founder of Solomon Family Dentistry, with five locations in Summerville and one in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. He is proud to be able to offer comprehensive oral health care to so many communities in South Carolina.

Dr. Solomon started out with a small dentist office in Summerville, just off of Beauregard, which had two treatment operatories and one operatory for dental hygiene. Over the years, Dr. Solomon has expanded the practice, building a new office and moving down the highway off of Royal Road. His intention of starting a small practice to help the community has now progressed into a larger dentist office that reaches out to patients in the Summerville, Moncks Corner, Goose Creek, and surrounding areas.

Dr. Solomon graduated from St. Andrews High School and continued on to complete his undergrad studies at the University of Maryland. From there, he came back to Charleston to complete his education for dental school at MUSC and has resided here ever since.

When not in the dentist’s office, Dr. Solomon enjoys spending time with his wife and family and picking up a good book for the occasional read.
