Dr. Jessica Trombetta-eSilva, or Dr. Silva, has been a part of Solomon Family Dentistry since 2020, and was raised in Charleston, SC. Dr. Silva grew up with various dental problems, needing fillings, crowns and extractions as a child, and then later requiring orthodontic intervention and even jaw surgery. Through all of those years of dental treatment Dr. Silva was exposed to the many sides of dental medicine. She loved that dentistry was a mixture of science and art, and that she would get to work with her hands. Dr. Silva explains that now she sees the best part of her job is getting to work with people and getting to hear a little bit of their story. Whether it’s about their job, house, family or even just the teeth, Dr. Silva enjoys getting to know her patients as visits continue. Most people are nervous at their first visit, and Dr. Silva and her team of dental assistants work hard at every visit to ensure patient comfort. Dr. Silva’s goal is to get patients comfortable coming to the office for preventative treatment so less major therapy is needed in the future.
Dr. Silva attended the Honors College at the College of Charleston where she graduated with both a Bachelor’s of Arts in Chemistry and a Bachelor’s of Science in Biochemistry. She then went on to dental school at the Medical University of South Carolina where she earned both her DMD and PhD degrees. Dr. Silva’s PhD is in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Pathobiology with a focus on Craniofacial Biology. Dr. Silva finds that her patients have better outcomes if they understand the why or how of their dental concerns, and she enjoys using her knowledge of dentistry and science to explain to patients their conditions.
Dr. Silva is married and has 3 children. She also has most of her family in the area, and most of her off time is spent with family. Dr. Silva enjoys exercise-especially cycling, reading and most forms of crafting in her free time.
Dr. Silva offers dental procedures such as fillings, crowns, bridges, Sure Smile (clear plastic aligner orthodontic therapy), root canals, and extractions. Dr. Silva also does restoration of dental implants.
