Conditions

There are a number of different conditions associated with poor oral hygiene, such as cavities, gum disease, and advanced periodontitis. You can prevent most dental problems by getting regular dental checkups and practicing good oral hygiene. Oral health involves teeth, gums, and mouth health. The term "dental problems" refers to conditions affecting the mouth. The most common dental problems are tooth decay, gum disease, tooth erosion, and gum infection. The result may be pain and discomfort, decreased self-esteem, and the inability to eat normally. Solomon Family Dentistry is here for you 7 days a week for any of your concerns.

Cavities

Many people suffer from dental cavities that go unnoticed until they have caused serious damage to their teeth. The cavities in your teeth are caused by tooth decay. They can cause pain, infection, or sensitivity if left untreated.

Bone Loss in Jaw

As a result of periodontal disease or missing teeth, many patients experience bone loss in their jaws. Jawbone atrophy occurs gradually, so you may not notice it immediately. Visit Solomon Family Dentistry to evaluate the tissue loss in your jaw.

Crooked Teeth

Having crooked teeth can have a negative effect on your health and appearance. Most patients are self-conscious about their misaligned teeth, but they are reluctant to commit to a lengthy, involved braces treatment.

Chipped Teeth

Chipped teeth can be frustrating because they affect your appearance, smile, and self-esteem. When your enamel is cracked or chipped, even the smallest crack can make you uncomfortable while smiling or laughing. Time to visit Solomon Family Dentistry to get that checked out!

Bleeding Gums

Swollen and bleeding gums can be very uncomfortable and unattractive. Also, these symptoms may indicate periodontal disease, which negatively impacts oral health. This may also have an impact on your general health.

Gingivitis

Bleeding gums, inflammation, and bad breath are some of the obvious symptoms of gingivitis. Gingivitis can be easily reversed with timely treatment from your dentist or oral surgeon. Gingivitis is associated with certain risk factors.

Bad Breath

It can be extremely embarrassing to have bad breath. Bad breath may also indicate a serious oral health issue if it persists. If you suffer from bad breath, contact Solomon Family Dentistry before reaching for mints or chewing gum.

Gummy Smile

Excessive gum tissue can cause an unbalanced smile, making your teeth seem shorter than they are. Many patients are unaware that gum contouring is an effective treatment for gummy smiles. Cosmetic gum contouring is used to improve your smile and feel good about smiling!

Loose Tooth

As a child, losing a tooth is common, but losing a tooth as an adult indicates a health concern. It is possible for adult teeth to become loose if their gums and other supporting structures fail to support them. Treatment depends on the cause and duration of the instability.

Dry Mouth

The feeling of having a dry mouth is unpleasant. Bad breath and difficulty chewing and swallowing can be caused by a dry mouth. A dry mouth can also negatively affect your health since saliva assists digestion and keeps your teeth clean.

Gap Teeth

Having gaps between your front teeth can make you feel self-conscious. It might even reach the point where you do not want to laugh or smile at all. Feeling more confident about your smile can be improved by filling in the gap between your teeth.

Missing Teeth

Having missing teeth can make chewing and speaking more difficult. Missing teeth can also make you feel self-conscious. There are several methods available for replacing missing teeth. You may be putting your oral and overall health at risk if you neglect tooth loss.

Overbite

An overbite is when your top teeth overlapping your bottom teeth. As a result of the condition, patients often feel self-conscious about their appearance. Having a severe overbite may also affect your oral health. Solomon Family Dentistry has many treatment options for this condition.

Sensitive Teeth

Sensitive teeth can make it difficult to consume foods and drinks like ice cream and hot beverages. The symptoms of tooth sensitivity can be effectively treated with a variety of effective treatments. Solomon Family Dentistry can find the best solution to your sensitivity.

Sleep Apnea

In America, over 22 million people suffer from sleeping disorders, which cause snoring, restlessness, fatigue, and other health issues. Sleep apnea can seriously impact your life on a variety of levels. Sleep apnea is associated with heart attacks, strokes, and premature death.

Stained Teeth

Dental stains may make you feel uncomfortable smiling, but they don’t affect your oral health. Solomon Family Dentistry offers several treatments to help you remove stains from your teeth depending on the type of stain.

Teeth Grinding

Bruxism is a condition that affects both children and adults. Bruxism, which is also known as clenching or teeth grinding , occurs involuntarily and is often caused by stress or misaligned teeth. Untreated, it can damage the enamel on your teeth.

Tooth Pain

Toothaches can occur for different reasons and cause different symptoms. Some patients experience sharp pain and swelling, while others suffer from infection, which can cause more serious problems. Solomon Family Dentistry is open 7 days a week to serve you!

Underbite

An underbite is caused by the lower teeth overlapping the upper teeth. If you have an underbite, chewing and speaking can be difficult. A misaligned jaw can cause an underbite, which can be corrected by a variety of procedures.

Dr Ari Socher

Fred Solomon, DMD

Frederick Solomon, DMD, is an experienced general dentist and founder of Solomon Family Dentistry, with five locations in Summerville and one in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. He is proud to be able to offer comprehensive oral health care to so many communities in South Carolina.

Dr. Solomon started out with a small dentist office in Summerville, just off of Beauregard, which had two treatment operatories and one operatory for dental hygiene. Over the years, Dr. Solomon has expanded the practice, building a new office and moving down the highway off of Royal Road. His intention of starting a small practice to help the community has now progressed into a larger dentist office that reaches out to patients in the Summerville, Moncks Corner, Goose Creek, and surrounding areas.

Dr. Solomon graduated from St. Andrews High School and continued on to complete his undergrad studies at the University of Maryland. From there, he came back to Charleston to complete his education for dental school at MUSC and has resided here ever since.

When not in the dentist’s office, Dr. Solomon enjoys spending time with his wife and family and picking up a good book for the occasional read.
